Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@vhdfme.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our community is focused on bringing together individuals who are passionate about versatile hunting dogs!!!!. We organize events, share resources, and provide a platform for networking and collaboration in this field.

Anyone who is interested in versatile hunting dog training, testing, breeding, and hunting  is welcome to become a member of our community. We welcome members from all backgrounds and levels of experience, from beginners to experts.

We organize a variety of events throughout the year, including training clinics, seminars, evaluations, and confirmations. Our events are designed to provide opportunities for learning, networking, and having fun with like-minded individuals in this field.

We are very similar to NAVDHA. We offer non-competitive testing as well as conformation and structure evaluation. Your dog will be evaluated to a set standard and is only measured against itself , not other dogs. As a handler or breeder you will gain more insight to the evaluation with VHDF using a 10 point system.  VHDF purposely does not award prizes, ribbons, or trophies in order to encourage handlers to test for evaluation of where their dog is in its development, and where the handler is in their training methods.  At the end of the day, if you are training for one, you are essentially training for the other.
